This years Homecoming pep rally started earlier in the evening than usual, sparking come commentary on the amount of daylight still present during the bonfire, but nevertheless it was an amazing experience.

As tradition goes, the pep rally, held on the Thursday before the Homecoming game, lead the way to the bonfire out behind Slade field. During the bonfire pep rally Joel Mireles, was announced Homecoming King.

Near the end of the pep rally it’s tradition to do our “Where you from?” chant ending with our alma mater. This year however, after the pep rally was over Mrs. Pintavalle asked the senior class to stay after in the gym.

“During this time she had the class repeat the “Where You From?” chant because this was our last year , last first pep rally, and our first senior event,” Jeweliana Rodriguez said. “The senior class reaction was heartwarming. Young adults crying tears of joy thinking about putting this chapter of life.”

Students then dashed to the bonfire site. This year’s bonfire was the largest anyone could remember. A few students were chosen to light the bonfire up, with the help of local firefighters, and then the Senior Class ran around one time to the left and eight times to the right letting the troubles of previous years burn in the wind behind them.
